BCCI Announces Schedule for IPL 2024

BCCI has declared the full timetable and fixtures for the league phase of upcoming IPL 2020 with all eight teams on March 29 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. This will be the 13th edition of the competition with an aggregate of 60 matches to be played over 50 days(compared to 44 in last season), and the final to be played on May 24. The schedule for the knockout matches will be declared later.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • This IPL season will be the longest in the tournament’s history
  • Double-headers have been bounded only to Sundays in this upcoming edition
  • The opening match of IPL 2020 will be a repeat of last year’s final. (Mumbai Indians Vs Chennai Super Kings )

Prior, the IPL governing cabinet had settled against changing timings of the night games from 8 pm to 7.30 pm against pressure from a couple of partners. In an honorable gesture, BCCI will have an All-Stars Game between all top international players before the beginning of IPL for charity purposes.
